Mushrif park is one of the oldest parks in Dubai. As a child I remember being terrified of it because my cousins had told me that it was haunted. Every time we would drove past it I would look away as if it did not exist. It worked and for a very long time I had forgotten about this beautiful sanctuary of desert and trees. It was only recent that I had fought my personal demons and decided to investigate it further. I fell in love with the desert nature, the first local landscape that I felt (in my personal opinion) fitting of the region. Nothing was contrived, everything cohesively blending together, nothing was out of place. Every single tree, bush and fleck of golden sand married together effortlessly complimenting the harsh beauty which is the desert. So much romance and poetry in such seclusion and the modern interruptions of solar panels only accentuated its spiritual appeal.
